Hi, bit of advice please - trying to choose a zen 4 chip and RAM to go with it for overclocking. It's going to be watercooled with a massive ~25kg copper radiator (one in my sig - cooled 600w+ previously okay) cooling just the CPU initially for the next few months until the gpu block for the 4090 gets here, so figured I could have some fun going for a high CPU clock in the meantime.
I'm out of the loop with regards to overclocking.
1) Am I likely to see better max freq/all core with the 7900, 7700, or 7950 in my situation with a lot of cooling headroom? Seems the 7600 and 7700 are lower binned so likely won't hit as high clocks as the 7900/7950, but wondering how much the thermal headroom might compensate potentially, if that makes sense?
Was thinking maybe 7900x and some gskill z5 neo 32gb (2 x 16gb) 6000 cl 32 expo kit.
2) Would you just get cheaper memory and go for 7950x instead?
3) Is there any benefit going for higher freq/better timing DDR5 memory? - am I right in thinking the memory controller's going to be the limiting factor to maybe 6400 max for zen 4?
Thanks for any advice you can give!
