Right, sick and tierd of crappy speakers..

So i want a amp and some speakers.. now firstly im very much limited by money here.. literaly only got £100 to spend tops

so im looking at an Eltax amp for £50.. a mate has got one and for the price i am very impressed.. now speakers..

i have a small room so they dont need to be massive.. now.. i was thinking £50 floorstanders like the pair we have downstairs but they look fugly and are probably overkill.. so ive been thinking - do you rekon i could get away with bookshelves? small room and its about quility not volume.. rarley will push it at all..

I want the warranty and i just want new kit in general tbh mate, although i will check cash converter just in case there are any silly deals on....

afaik richer sounds arnt a competitor are they? if so very sorry

anyway was thinking of getting

http://www.richersounds.com/showproduct.php?cda=showproduct&pid=ELTA-WAVE-MINI-BCH

and for an amp

http://www.richersounds.com/showproduct.php?cda=showproduct&pid=ELTA-AMP70

I'm new to the whole sound scene so bear with me, i assume it will all work together and stuff? it looks like the amp isn't actually as powerful as the speakers watt ratting - does this just mean the amp wont be able to push the speakers to there limit (not that i would ever need to do this) ? there's no quality loss or anything right?

I'll second the advice to search ebay. £50 for the Eltax may sound like a bargain initially but it'll invariably be pretty awful especially when you realise you can pick up a decent Rotel or Audiolab amp for only £50-100 more; the difference will truely be like night and day!

[edit] didn't notice your budget. sorry. However, I'd definately save up a bit more rather than blowing £100 on cheepo stuff. It'll be worth it in the long run.

Just been having a long hard look on ebay.. and its all well and good but they are out of my price range.. assuming i want a half decent working one anyway lol.. PnP is silly on them :( i know its not the sellers fault but just saying. Im gonna be really anyoing now and insist that i buy from richer sounds or somewhere similar.. i just need sound lol... my current speakers are horrible.. and this is the only time im going to run into any money for a long time lol

but i will look in the cash converter (its like practicly next to richer sounds anyway lol) , what brand of amp should i look out for? i know nothing about this kinda stuff.. and how can i tell if its naff or actualy good?
