Advice Please

Hi there

Just wondering if anyone else has heard of or used the Praktica DCZ 8 VR? Same is this one:-

It's claimed to be 8.0 Megapixels :rolleyes:

- i've got one, had it for a couple of years now and suddenly the flash seems to have stopped working. Am wondering if it's as simple as a setting on the camera i've got wrong or if it's an actual fault thats developed with the camera?

This is my first ever foray into the forums of cameras and photography - any help or advice you can give will be greatly appreciated - thanks in advance

The former is a possibility - any camera with a flash will have the functionality to switch it off permanently. Without a manual to hand or having ever seen the camera it's impossible to say how you'd tell, but most cameras will show the classic flash symbol with either a 'banned' sign overlaid on it or with a little cross next to it when the flash is switched off:

There's going to be either a menu or a button on the camera that controls how and when the flash fires, so I'd hunt around for that (you've still got the manual I assume?) and see if you can tell one or or the other that the flash is still working but disabled.

Thanks very much for the swift reply Glitch, can you tell i know sfa about cameras?

Dug out the manual and played about with the settings and eventually managed to get it sorted, Google wasn't much use in helping me find the cause of the problem - thankfully OCUK forums and it's fellow members were :cool:

I would remove the competitor link in your first post if i were you. If the mods see it you will probably get suspended.
