I've bought a MSI Platinum P35 motherboard a while back and recently purchased a Q9450 and BFG 9800GX2 as well. I currently use some cheap RAM with the setup. For some reason my games stop responding after a while and sometimes when I open programs they crash as well. I've ran the Nvidia Stability test and it bomb out after a minute, gave a read, write error. Now I think it's the crappy RAM that's causing the problem, because the temps look fine.

Right so I'm thinking of getting some memory and also a good cpu cooler. Ideally 2x2gb modules. Which modules and cooler do you guys suggest, keeping in mind it has to fit on the MSI Platinum board.

Thanks in advance

I flashed the BIOS with the latest firmware, because I initially though it might be that the motherboard is not fully compatible with the new processor. On MSI's website it states that the Q9450 is supported with the latest BIOS update so hopefully it's not that.

Thanks Icey_haj, those modules looks potent. Unfortunately there's not a lot of space between the graphic card and RAM, so it might be to big. I was looking at the Crucial Billistix ram but just want to know if they are supported by the motherboard
