Guys,
I am about to put water cooling on my hd4870x2 and have a question. With regards to putting the thermal grease on the gpus etc is it a case of putting a little on (like you do a cpu) so that when you fit the block it will spread it or do you simply make sure a thing layer is all over the surface of the chip in question? as the block comes with a thermal pad you cut to size but I can see that being a pain to keep them in place when your fit the block so can you just use thermal grease like mx-5 / artic silver 5 and this would mean also not having to cut silly littly shapes ??
And secondly where on earth can I get a tube cutter? I have 3/8 tubbing with quite thick walls but very flexable. I purchased a little hand held red tube cutter but wont cut it? I urgently need a cutter as I want to start fitting it now?
Suggestions on the above would be more than welcome.
Thanks in advance
