hey guys.

Ive been looking at the Asus VH222H 22" Widescreen True HD LCD Monitor for a while now, but have a few questions before i order, seeing as though i know pretty much nothing about what makes a good monitor.

link: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-014-AS

First off, as its HD, the max res of the monitor is 1920 x 1080, does this mean it will look abit choppy at 1680x1050 as it wont be at its native res? it just got me thinking as if it wasnt HD it would be running at 1680x1050 anyway, but im just making sure.

secondly is it a decent overall monitor? i know i cant expect too much for the price, but it should be fine for gaming etc right?

any advice would be much appriciated, thx:)

hey mate so sorry this is off topic but jus needed to get intouch wit you to ask what cpu heatsink you have in that silverstone case looks sweet =]

If it's a 1080P screen, then 1680x1050 won't fit the screen correctly.

1050 is a 16:10 res whereas 1080 is a 16:9 res.

To be honest, there's not much difference in performance going from 1680 to 1920 anyway.

With regards to the quality of the monitor though, from what I've seen, Asus screens aren't good. A friend has an Asus monitor, and it's quite poor in terms of colour quality and clarity. Some colours appear to bleed at the edges of objects on screen.

Though this was over 2 years ago now, and to be fair I have an Asus laptop with a very nice screen on it.
