Advice please

Hi,

Just overclocked the system in my signature to 3.4Ghz by only increasing the FSB, the motherboard took care of the memory so I assume this is OK?

It took me a few goes to get the cooler on so I think the thermal paste might not be a great seal.

Anyway, I'm getting idle temps of 35c and up to 71c under load with Prime and OCCT.

Are these temps to be expected or a bit too high and I should try re-seating the heat sink/fan set up?

Idle looks fine. I have seem some people get to ~70 at like 4Ghz. If you want to go further then it may be a bit high but if not then I see no problems with that temp.

Yeah, just read a post that had the same setup and temp running at 4Ghz.

Don't intend clocking any higher but thought it was a little warm considering I have push/pull fans and the ambient temp is quite cool.

Should be fine as it is, if you are worried then re apply thermal paste and re seat the cooler, should bring it down a little.
