Hi All

I have been out of the loop for a long long time so I would appreciate picking your brains for best route forward for BF3 and beyond.

My current system is as follows:
Case - Antec P180?
PSU - Coarsair 650W Modular
CPU - C2D E6400
Mobo - P5B Deluxe
GPU - XFX HD 4890 850M 1GB DDR5
Monitor - Samsung 22" 1680 * 1050 max

The setup is coming up for 6 years old apart from the GPU (8800GTX died)

I have found playing BF3 a struggle even by dropping the settings down....just seems sluggish.

I am looking to order one of the following bundles, advice please -

Would it be possible to purchase an additional XFX HD 4890 850M 1GB DDR5 to make an SLI or would it be better to buy a new GPU?

My budget for a new GPUis around £150, if required.

Thank you for your responses in advance.

What is your total budget please? I imagine a new GPU would be a better bet. Also i7 2600k is overkill for games, i5 2500k is ideal and very good.

Thank you for the reply.
I was just going to purchase one of the overclocked bundles mentioned and was leaning towards the i5 setup.

If i do go for the i5 setup (£400ish) that would then allow me to buy a GPU for around £200.

What would you recommend?

Are you confident at all putting together your own components? You can buy that same bundle and swap the motherboard out for the ASUS P8Z68-V-LX which is the same as the bundle motherboard but with less SATA-6 and USB 3.0 ports and you've saved yourself £80 to go towards your GPU fund. As i understand it anyone can get a i5 2500k to 4.6 with zero effort.
