advice please

ok could some of you good people please advise me.

I am thinking about buying a secondhand HP xw8600 Workstation

it has dual Intel Xeon Quad Core E5450 3g/hz cpu's , 32 gig of ram and a quadro 256m/b graphics card.

approx cost £850-£900

or would a new intel i-7 be better its for video editing

right so the i-7's 4 cores would outperform the xeons 7 cores ?

its mainly for use with after effects cs6

and after effects eats cpus and ram lol
