Hello everyone :D

I would like some advice about changing the graphics cards in my pc. I currently have 2 AMD 6970's and I would like to get something that is quieter as these are so noisy - perhaps just 1 card would be good? Any kind of speed improvement would be very welcome also!

I have never changed anything in my PC but looking at it, it seems a fairly straight forward job.

Thanks!

Thanks :)

I have a Corsair HX850 and an Intel i5 2500k which I believe is running at 4.2Ghz, at least that is what my system is telling me. I don't mind spending up to £500.

Here is a thread showing benchmarks at different clocks when a forum member switched from Crossfire 6970s to a single 7970. These 280xs are a tad faster with the new drivers and can be had for a good price!

I would however be looking to get at least some marginal performance increase out of the upgrade, so maybe wait to see what Nvidia and AMD release in the next two weeks as it will be likely at least one GPU will be within budget and would give you a significant boost over your current set-up.
