Hi guys, I was asked to go into my wife's nursery and have a look at their childrens computer, now the computer itself is really old and running slow, so I said I would take it home and put fresh windows on it to solve that. Another thing they really wanted was internet connection for it, now the computer is too far away from the router so a wired connection is not possible, also they want the fewer amount of wires they can have because this is for the toddler room for them just to play children's games. I was thinking they could use a wireless connection of some sort but the computer is that old I am not even sure that would work with this. What would you guys say is my best option to help them out with this? I told them I don't want paying because it is for the children, just hope I can get it working for them.
It currently has windows xp on, I was considering an updated operating system, would that possibly help with the internet connection options?

Well it turns out it does need a graphics card, so will be looking for an old cheap one just for the kids, The motherboard is Lenovo G31T LM, the power supply I can't even tell what power it is haha but it's old. I think it is 280w going on the CRU PIN number of 41A9665. There is a slight colour tint of green when I have this connected at home, so it has either messed with the onboard when I turned the corner in the boot of the car or it is my cable which is more likely. I will get them an old card anyway, will give them more options won't it. They just want some kids games on it so it should be better with a cheap card. Now to find a card, I don't know which one is best for a nursery really and would be worried about the psu.

Am I right looking for normal PCI aren't I?

yip looking at what I can find on the motherboard it takes a PCI Express x16 card. I wouldn't imagine it would take anything bang uptodate.

how much ram does it have? ( I have some ddr2 ram if you need it for price of postage since its for kids )

the board supports windows 7 as far as I can tell so you could stick a fresh sata drive in it and give it a fresh install of windows 7 if you need a code im sure I have one I can look out for you.
