Do I need to update the bios on this MB for the 7800X3D and 7600?

It’s a new build in the planning, don’t have excess to a pc or laptop.

Very unlikely that a B650 Tomahawk would need a flash and it has flashback anyway, so it can be flashed without a supported CPU (though you would need a way to put the file on a USB stick).

If you want to make absolutely certain, buy a X870 board, since they will definitely have the right BIOS, but honestly, I think it is a non-issue (these CPUs have been out a long time, the next generation are already available).

On the Tomahawk the 7800x3d is supported from bios 7D75v13 which is from March 2023. I would be very surprised if a motherboard bought from a major retailer such as OCUK didn't come with a much more recent bios on it.

What is the question you're asking exactly? If a new board will come with that BIOS?

If that is your question, the answer is no.

I would expect the BIOS on a board you buy today to be at least 3 months out of date, probably older (e.g. 6-12 months).

They might have made the effort to put a BIOS on the board that supports the new gen (9000), but hard to guarantee that.
