Guys,
How do you post pictures in these forums?

Anyway, want to use:

Abit IP35 Pro (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "LGA775 Kentsfield" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - Retail

Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-6400C4 800MHz Dual Channel Kit (BL2KIT12864AA804)

Lian-Li PC-7 PLUS Aluminium Midi-Tower Case - Black

BFG GeForce 8800 GTS OC2 640MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail

Got to get that lot in one go to even get a PC up and running. Will tart it up with Case windows, more memory, fans etc later.

2X Samsung SpinPoint T HD401LJ 400GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM in RAID 0

I have some questions:

1. Could I get away with a 320Meg video card if I want to use the 226BW sammy? Or would it be false economy with the spec of the rest of the hardware?
2. Will it be hot and loud with the stock Intel cooler? Will the Tuniq Tower cool it further and will it fit in the Lian Li 7 case? Is that a ood choice of cooler?
3. Will a E6850 be a better CPU for me since I don't do that much gaming? I chose the Q6600 since it's only £5 more !!
4. Is my idea of RAID 0 a sensible one and will it improve performnce?

Thanks, Steve

Firstly,[_IMG](insert image address here) [_/IMG] and remove the underscores ofcourse.

1. The 640mb version isnt a massive step up from the 320mb version, i think you could get away with it fine.
2. Quad's can get very hot, and stock coolers are always louder than aftermarket versions. The Tuniq is very good and will do you well, though i cant say if itd fit that case or not im afraid.
3. If you dont do much gaming then you wont see much advantage from the extra clock speed, so the extra 2 cores on the quad will be usefull imo.
4. Raid 0 will improve performance, but generally it isnt neccessary, just something people like as an added bonus.

The cheaper version of that ram will be just as good for you as the one youve selected 667mhz
