gigabyte
ga-8i915pm
350psu
3gig ram
CPU Type Intel Pentium 4 540J, 3200 MHz (16 x 200)

Is it onboard graphics or a seperate graphics card?

Either way your PSU power rating seems very low.

How long does the system stay on for the first time? And once the system reboots a few times does it then remain off constantly or what does it do?

Also how is it your testing the temperature of the CPU?

Its not really that clear from what you are saying on whats happening with the system.

If you turn the system on,does it start first time and start up perfectly?

or

Does it take a few attempts to get it to start?

or

Does it only fail when you try to use your dvd or cd burner with nero?

The more detail you give the easier it will be to analyse and source the fault.

yes sorry it dose take a few attempts to start up.

and when i burn disc it shuts down.

i been out and got new hardrive today and tryed to put new os on it but all the computer done was beep once go to first screen, which is p4 logo then shuts down.

Is it a SATA hard drive or IDE?

What about your dvd/cd burner?

Id remove the dvd/cd burner to rule out any power issue and see if the system will boot any further than it is at the moment.

Id also go into the bios and see that it is detecting your new hard drive, just incase it is faulty (unlikely though might aswell rule it out)

Give that a try and let me know your findings

Does the system always beep at start up wether its working or not?

I know mine does as part of the start up process(but that doesnt mean they all do) Just so im not assuming its normal.

What operating system is it? What does your Task manager say about your resource usage?

It depends, have you reinstalled the operating system in it all?If not it couldnt hurt to at least try it though from what your saying if im picking it up right sounds more like your hardware is struggling for some reason.

If you have any demanding apps i would try running them and see how it reacts.

Do a few windows updates aswell incase its a driver issue. Theres also a log file that is created every time your system crashes,Its been a long time since I looked at the crash log though so I dont remember what its called or how to find it but google might lead you to the answer for that one.

ok sorted it it was the disc drive remored it and all ok.
just now when i tryed to put windows on new drive its only giveing me 127 out of 500gig

ok work that out so getting 500 gig now .

now all i need to know is when i connect 2 hardrive computer will not start up.

seem like both hardrive are trying to start at same time
