Hi all,

I would like to play new games such as the witcher 3 etc.

Budget is tight so I would like to spend as little as possible.

The components I could take from my old PC are, Corsair 550w psu - Radeon R9270, 4gb ram, Benq 140hz monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc all peripherals.

So I assume I will need a new case, cpu, possibly 4gb of ram, new gpu?

Have only built one PC before but will be able to do it again. Would appreciate some advice on how to do this with keeping costs as low as possible. Don't need to run all graphic settings on utlra with 400 FPS. Just looking for a steady gameplay experience on medium/high settings. Thanks all

Hi,

Even a rough idea of budget would be helpful. Although specs can be posted and then cut down if needed, I suppose.

Which Corsair model is the PSU? And the brand/model/speed/timings of the RAM? Better chance of a new 4GB stick working in Dual Channel with the old stick if you can find an identical one or very similar.

How about motherboard and drive/s?

Hi, thanks for your reply,

Maximum budget around £500/600

PSU model is the CS550M,

Ram is Teamgroup elite ddr3 2x2gb

Mobo is Asus F2A55, thought I would be better off buying a new mobo as it's an FM2?

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte Z97X-SLI - Devils Canyon Core i5 4690K Bundle **£12 Saving** £277.98
1 x MSI GeForce GTX 970 Gaming Edition 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £269.99
1 x Antec VSP5000 Silenced Tower Case - Black £39.95
2 x TeamGroup Elite 2GB (1x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz Single Channel Module (TED32GM1600C1101) £14.99 (£29.98)
Total : £631.99 (includes shipping : £11.75 Ex.VAT).

This GFX card comes with two games and should be ok on your PSU.

Is that the right speed RAM? to be honest I wonder if its not just worth getting a 8Gb 2400Mhz kit for £47 and selling off what you have.

Dont suppose you have an aftermarket heatsink?

The bundle stulid has linked comes with a retail cpu, this is supplied with the stock Intel heat sink.
