Last week someone drove into me, and later that day I got some quotes for roughly how much repairs would be, this was before notifying my insurance of the accident.

One of the approved repair places forwarded my case to a company called Accident Exchange who basically try and claim all your repair costs from the other party's insurer without incurring a notification/claim from my own insurer (therefore maintaining premium/NCB etc), and advised me to leave it with them and not make any notification until they'd finished their stuff.

Anyway fast forward a week later, turns out the other party has refused to accept liability (even though I think it's fairly obvious) and I now have to go back via insurance for claims etc, but obviously now it's been more than 48 hours or whatever that I'm supposed to have notified them within.

Anyone had experience of claiming/informing insurance companies after several days and whether they kick up a fuss about rejecting your claim or invalidating your policy because of breaching their guidance?

Thanks in advance for any help.

in 2009 i was rear ended, and gave the case to an accident management company (europa). 6 months later after masses of incompitance and **** poor communication from Europa, I pulled the case from them and handed it my actual insurer at the time, which was directline. They took the case with no questions really, so you should be fine in such a short time period.
