Advice regarding Windows 8 System Image

Hi all as my new systems up and running a friend mentioned a System Image Disk or somthing

Now my set up is windows 8 with all programs on an SSD and I've changed the default locations to the second hard drive

Will this system image thing help me with that if I have to do a fresh install??

What are the advantages of this image disk?

a image is a copy of the whole drive in its current state with what is installed and all currently installed OS updates so instead of formatting you restore the image of the drive

if you ever want to do a fresh install you can get the tool to do a ISO or a USB stick from here

I have two drives, SSD 250GB Samsung evo 840 as OS drive and a HDD as a second drive which I install steam games too which don't require speed so when I do a format of the OS I just install steam and point it to the second drive for the library

if you want to do one use the backup and restore option in windows or you can follow this guide below
