Hi,
I'm new to this forum so please forgive me if I get this wrong.
I need some advice on picking fan controllers that automatically control fans based on temperatures sensed.
The aim is to; reduce power by slowing down or turning off fans when they are not needed and to reduce noise.
The first question is;
I am looking for 8 auto fan controllers to sit in PC's in front of the CD/DVD drive bay. That's one controller per PC. I need some form of display only when that PC is running. I would love something in blue. I do need some audible alarm when the sensed temperature rises about settable limits.
Price is a factor since I will be buying so many of them.
The second question is;
I am looking for 2 auto fan controllers to sit inside a rackmount enclosure.
These controllers will be responsible for air flow through the enclosure.
One will control a fan matrix at the top and the other will control a different fan matrix at the bottom. I only really want to sense the temperature at the top of the enclosure to control both fan matri.
The fan matri will contain many fans 10+ so I suspect I may need more than one controller for each matrix. I am also considering powering some fans independantly to be always on.
I do need some display so again something in blue would be good and I need that audible alarm.
For this setup I will be using one or two PC powersupplies placed in the enclosure just for this. As such I will be using the controllers without any PC's actually being on.
On the subject of audible alarms, I am willing to get just a sensor with an alarm if that means that I can get a better suited auto fan controller that just happens to not have an audible alarm.
On the matter of display (for the enclosure controllers only) I can live with a poor display since I can always add an independant temperature only display.
Hope you can help.
