Hi, I have an ASUS ROG p67 Extreme motherboard that has been trouble ever since I purchased it. One of the memory slots is damaged due to an accident I don't really want to talk about which is why I didn't RMA it for the 3rd time . Its a 50-50 when I turn it on if it picks up the USB's and I really want some stability back in my life. But not sure how to go about it.

I have a 2700k that happily sits at 5ghz, and I would like to keep it for a little while longer, but not sure what board I should replace it with or if I need to just accept I need to let the 2700k go.

I'm using 2 X 290x's - I have 3 - not using it, due to not wanting to invest on a water loop for this failing motherboard and the disheartening feeling I get when I use it.

This computer is pretty much just used for playing EVE Online on 3 monitors with multiple clients. I know the cards are 3.0 and the sandybridge boards are all 2.0 so maybe I need to just wait and upgrade the CPU to?

I have 4 kids - Its Christmas and funds are low, some advice (moral support) on what I should probably do, would be much appreciated

This is what I have to work with:

Cooler Master HAF X Case
ROG Maximus IV Extreme p67
i7 2700k - On a H80 Cooler currently
SuperFlower 1200w Platinum PSU
2 X 4 GB Ram @2133mhz (G-Skill Rated at 2400)
3 X 290x GPU's
480gb SSD

Thanks

A Z68 or Z77 motherboard is what you need you will have to look second hand for one but they are comanding a high price.
