Hi everyone.

I have a Baxi combi which is controlled by a wireless time clock with incorporated thermostat. I'm thinking about buying a Hive but not sure if I could wire it up myself. I used to install heating systems but we always had sparks do the electrics so I have no experience of electrics beyond wiring a plug!

I have included a couple of images. One is the type of time clock/thermostat and the other is the wireless receiver at the boiler (it's Plum Centre own brand and it comes as a kit).

Thanks for any help :)

Its exactly the same apart from hive only has 1 live connector so the 2 lives in the bdr91 will need to be put together if its wired like the diagram, you could do with taking the cover off to see if it is

I'll pop it off later or tomorrow and post it again mate

Sorry mate, things been hectic the last few days. This is what the current wireless receiver at my boiler looks like with the cover off

Thanks mate. If I was to go for a Nest would it be a similar story?

Regards

Yes same numbered connections as well. The only difference will be that the nest thermostat requires a 12v supply. Which you usually use the wires to the old thermostat. As yours is already wireless the thermostat will need to be plugged in.
