Ok, the mother needs a new laptop as hers is, quite frankly, funked.
Requirements:
Windows 7
Enough Ram to make it run smoothly
DVD player
Wireless card (as she has a router)
She does a bit of word processing as she is Chairlady for her constituancies WI and that's about it. Doesn't need anything new-fangled as she is 74 and obviously pensions don't go a long way when you have logs to buy and soup to make. For that reason I imagine her budget isn't awesome but will find out and report back.
My question is, is there a decent place to look for second hand laptops and what would a second hand laptop with sufficient guts to please an old lady cost? Or even new for tbh. I am so out of touch these days with costs that I need a little guidance from 'those in the know'
I told her I'd ask here as there is an abundance of "fine young men" willing to help an old lady cross the road...
