Hi (new here)
So I've recently completed a new build (Athlon X2 7850 / Gigabyte MA78GM-US2H / 2x2GB OCZ RAM / Sapphire Radeon 4670 / Asus Xonar DX) and everything's great part from this really annoying audio stutter.
It happens without any apparent pattern and is sometimes frequent, to the extent where listening to music isn't really practical. The DPC latency tool I downloaded shows that while my 'baseline' latency is around 100 microseconds, spikes as long as a few SECONDS are occurring concurrently with the stutter. In fact, even if i'm not playing audio, DPC Checker shows the odd spike appearing now and again.
I've tried systematically disabling virtually every device in Device Manager and to no effect. I've updated all of my drivers (sound/video/mouse/modem).The stuttering happens whether I'm using the Xonar or onboard sound, happens when wntivirus is uninstalled, all USB devices removed and if I'm doing nothing at all apart from playing music. I 've tried Winamp and Media Player and the problem persists.
So I'm all out of ideas. I just wondered whether this is anything anyone here has wrestled with in the past and if anyone's able to offer advice. ANY help would be rerally appreciated as this is driving me mad...
What's interesting is that I can stop a stutter "mid-stutter" by moving the mouse. I don't get the problem if I have a game running, presumably because I'm continually moving the mouse.
Thanks,
Sergio
