Hi All,

Thinking it's about time I upgraded from my old setup. Nothing too drastic just more up to date and of course faster always appreciated. Budget maybe up to £400-450 if that is doable?

Used for photo editing (Lightroom, Photoshop etc) and general use. Quite like the idea of a smaller form factor than a tower as well if possible. Not asking for much am I! :-)

Current setup:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650, Motherboard ASUS P5K 4GB DDR2-SDRAM, Sapphire Radeon HD 5570

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Best rgds

I built my wife a nice small quiet PC in a case like this: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/coolermaster-elite-130-mini-itx-case-black-ca-338-cm.html so that sort of case might float your boat.

The AMD 3600 does seem a good price/performance balance but a 3400G could fit your budget better and provide a good boost in performance over your existing CPU plus you can sell your GPU as you're not gaming on it and the 3400G has built in graphics. https://www.overclockers.co.uk/amd-...ith-rx-vega-11-graphics-retail-cp-3ba-am.html

Also you're basically talking about a whole PC upgrade so you could just buy this: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/ocuk...-rx-vega-11-next-day-gaming-pc-fs-1cg-ep.html

2nd an R7 3700X. The R7 3700X I had didn't pull more power than the R5 3600 with an PBO+150MHz OC. So very efficient IMO, with stonking performance.

For some reason OCUK don't seem to stock X570 ITX motherboards. There are X570 motherboards available from Gigabyte, Asus, and Asrock.
