Alight folks, I'm looking at buying some new bits and bobs ill post my current rig down below, eventually ill upgrade everything other than the RAM.

I currently have about 800-1000 pound, I was hoping to get away with leaving the PSU for another few months and upgrade MOBO CPU and GPU but not sure my current PSU will cope.

Current system;
MSI P67A-GD53
Intel I5-2500k
Corsair 16gig Dominator Platinum RAM
MSI GTX 580 1.5gig
Antec truepower 650w
Windows 8
2x Benq G2222HDL

Anyways these are what i'm looking at currently to upgrade to let me know your opinions.

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 780 WindForce 3x OC 3072MB
Gigabyte Z87X-OC Intel Z87
Intel Core i7-4770K

-----------------------------------------

Eventually come march i plan on having a new 27 inch monitor, 1200w psu, also a second GTX780.

Just trying to plan ahead here try not waste too much cash replacing parts now that i will need to replace later.

Cheers.

To be honest, I would stick with PSU you have, if you don't plan overclocking that 4770k right away. Otherwise you may want to get a new PSU sooner, but I think 1200 is a bit overkill, even for 4770k + 2*780. Count 350 per oc'ed card + 150 for oced cpu + max 150 for rest of the system. I probably overcalculated this so it wont be even 1000w.
As for gpu choice, you probably go for cheapest one, but if you ever plan to watercool it, you may want to consider getting evga. Normally if you remove stock cooler, you void the warranty. Evga gpu warranty includes water cooled cards, you just need to send back stock cooler as well.
Cant comment on motherboard choice, i only heard it is great for overclocking.

Unless you're planning tried/quad-sli and/or a shed load of HDDs etc then you don't need a 1kw+ PSU, a good quality 850w should be enough.

How old is your current PSU? It should be OK for the specs you've got/are planning on getting (single GPU).

I dont really plan on water cooling the system any time soon at least not the gpu maybe the cpu at a later date although everything else would come before that.

My current PSU is about 2 years old I believe, not too old..

With the three components I mentioned there should be no bottlenecking really right?

Also if i'm getting a smaller PSU under 150 pound i could probably pick that up at the same time, or close to 150 pound.. Just don't want to have to replace it any time soon xD

thanks for reply.

You can get good modular 850w psu for 150£. Corsair HX or Silverstone Strider. Or add few £ and get a Seasonic.
Or check the watts on everything, maybe you need only 750w - I have evga 750w nex, best psu I had, completely silent under load, very cool and full modular. Also a lot of cables and nice colors ( black / red ).
