I am trying to setup a file server using some old hardware and some newer hardware and I need advice if it will work together or not. I have two Maxtor SATA 1 500Gb drives from 2006 and plan on buying another two Maxtor SATA II 500Gb drives to go in a RAID 5 setup with the others.
With the drives being different models will it work or do the drives all need to be identical?
