Advice with Property maintenance on Apartment complexes?

Yes. (Maybe not council ones though).

No definate amount. Depends where it is and the type of complex it is.

Yes they all do (inc council ones).

Price depends on what the place is. I pay £700 per year on one, about £600 on anotehr and £800 on another.

MY mate bought a new flat in the docklands and was paying £100 a month for service chjarge but it was 23 odd storeys, brand new and had a lot of lifts!

My flat in sheffield we pay around 1000 per year.
A flat that I owned in the past in Prague I pad 3000 per year.
A flat that I rent now in Prague its a crazy 5k per year!

Its very much down to the building, how well it its taken care of and if someone it stealing the money. I know some places in london can be 10k plus per year for a fully serviced building.

The leaseholders in my building are in the process of kicking our management company out. They were doing some very dodgy things, such over-paying contractors (who happened to work for a sister company of theirs) and not claiming on problems covered by our insurance (again, insured through a sister company).

Once we started to get the accounts independently audited, the service charge dropped fro £800 to £450 a year.

yah tell me about it, they are really bad here in Prague.

The place we rent has 240 flat in it. So lets average it to 4k per year per flat thats close to 1million pounds per year. The security guards make 2 pounds per hour so I suspect that someone is skimming off a lot of the money.
