So Guys this anit a price this time. Im just asking what you think i should stay with.

AMD 3000+ Socket 939, Asrock 939A8X-M, Inno 3D 6800GT 256Mb GC

VS

AMD 3500+ Socket 939, Gigabyte K8N-XP SLi, Dual 6600GT 256mb

Not sure if the upgrade would be worth it as even though i play a lot of the latest games, ive heard the 6800GT is more powerful. Need your advice because friend wants my GC and is willing to swop for free.

id go for the gigabyte set up...
ive swapped from an asrock board to an Asus one... and its made a difference !
is there a compromise between the two setups ?
id deffo go for the gigabyte SLI board though... you have a lot more scope for future upgrades... you could even get the gbite board and a 68ooGT... then later on buty another and SLI them... maybe the most cost effective way ?

Well the 6800GT i have now is AGP (the discontinued ones) from inno3D. but yeah im starting to think the small lack of power in the graphics dept will be made up by the fact ill be running a 3500+ instead of a venice core 3000+

you should be able to oc your 3000+ upto 3500+ speeds. even if you can't there isn't that much difference between the cpus. you setup should still be quicker than your mates.

why don't both of you run some 3dmark benchmarks to compare.
