Basically, I don't game much, and to be honest I do not really need a new GPU, but I like changing GPUs often (I have had 4 GPUs in less than 12 months on my main machine, not counting the other machines!)

I nearly bought a X2 on release day then logic kicked in. Now I am "convincing" myself that I should get a 4870 instead, or maybe 2 x 4850s. I was going to sell the GTS to offset some of the cost (this is just an excuse to convince myself let's face it) but the other half would probably love having it in her machine rather than me selling it.

Money is not a problem, but logic is. Keep the GTS for a while? Get a 4870? 2x4850?

I game at 1920x1200 when I do.

tbh, if money is not a problem then 2 4870x2's! but keep your current card if you don't game that much

Within logic it would not be a good idea (same principle as why I have a Q6600 and not a QX). I probably game 1-2 hours a week.

Other half would probably think I am crazy for spending that much, although she can easily spend that on a bag...:p

It depends on if "money isn't a problem" really means you can spend whatever you want on a gpu :p

Go for a 4870x2 if you have the money and nothing else it needs to be spent on, otherwise go for a single 4870. Only you can decide if you do enough gaming to warren't upgrading at all, though.

Buy 4 of the most expensive GTX 280's with an SLi board and run em in quad seen as money aint a prob

How can you run quad? I have a 790i board, which is tri SLI. As far as I was aware you can only run three gpu's in tri sli max at the moment. Quad would equal two 9800gtx2's, not 4x280s. Correct me if I'm wrong.......

Buy a skulltrail mono or w/e and 2 of the most expensive intel CPU's.

Then go buy 4 overinflated 4870X2's, yes yes we know only 2 will work, the other 2 can go on the wall.

Then buy a Radeon HD3450 and sell your old 8800GTS and save some coin £££

Don't be fooled into buying two gas guzzling GPU's unless you are a Pro gamer or Pro bencher . . .

If you really must have more 3D power than a Radeon HD3450 then buy a Radeon HD4850 but if your not gaming its a waste of money and waste of electricty

If you do game at least once or twice a week then the HD4850 is the card of choice, anything more is pure ePeen! :o

Is that all you worry about?? In almost every thread you post in you manage to bring electric use into it. Get over it already:eek::D
