Advice?

Well i'm not exactly an avid photographer, but there are an increasing number of times when think to myself "I wish I had a camera with me..." So as a beginner to photography what would you suggest i do? I have a few camera's lying about, i'll find the make and model later if you want. What would you suggest on a relatively small budget if they are no good? Are there any guides i should be looking at?

knowing someone with an award for his photography at 14 cant be a bad thing. presumably you're of a similar age. It'll be interesting to hear what cameras you've got lying about the place though.

I know this really doesn't help, but for 14 your friend has some serious talent! I wish I had taken up photography at 14 and not 21!

Hmm, well i think the best one i have available is a Cannon Powershot S3 IS. Only one i could find with a quick rumage, but i think there are more somewhere...

Just some examples of what i did a while ago on a rubbish phone camera... they're quite plain but i never have a camera with me when there's something going on in the foreground.
