I've been looking at camera's for god know's how many days and I still can't make up my mind! Can you help?

Recently I've found my love for photography again and I currently own a 500D with the standard kit lens, I got the 55-200 as a gift but soon sold this as it just gathered dust.

My favourite type of photography is landscape, skylines etc and also a bit of event stuff for work, so I was looking at wide-angle lenses for the Canon but I'd to go more compact, I find the 500D a bit of a burden to carry around as I like to travel light.

So that got me looking into more compact cameras, and i like the look of the NEX-6 and also noticed they do a 10-18 f4 lens and the reviews and results look pretty good (i think?). Should also compliment the 16-50 kit lens well.

Am I wasting my time going from the 500D to the NEX-6?

Will the picture quality be better or worse?

I just don't want to regret selling the 500D and buying a NEX-6 and thinking I should have just bit the bullet and gone full frame and got a 6D or the like and dealt with the size.

Thanks!

Thanks ElDude,

Thinking about getting the Canon 10-22 second hand and giving it ago before I purchase a new camera

Would like something more compact though!
