Hi guys I'm after some advise.
I'm looking at replacing my old reliable PC, after four and a half years of faultless service. It's time to upgrade.
I'm currently looking at a i5 6600k build with a GTX 1070.
My question is would I be better getting a GTX 1060 and a new monitor with the cash difference(current is a lot older than PC)
My current setup is a EVGA GTX 580 SC and a HP W2408H,

Thanks

That monitor sure is old.

If this is for gaming and I assume it is as you want a fast gfx card, a newer 24" 144HZ screen would be a massive upgrade.

You can get a £200 24" Freesync+144HZ monitor along with a RX480 for example.

Or the 1060 with the same monitor but still get the 144HZ but minus Freesync.

Example,

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £1,078.71
(includes shipping: £15.90)

Yes it's purely a gaming machine.
I have previously had ATI cards, but had nothing but trouble with them. My current card was my first Nvidea card and it's lasted 4 years+ and still plays modem games it shouldn't.
I'm not adverse to getting Radeon card again, but having had 4 Radeon cards in 5 years and 1 Nvidea in 4. You can see why I'm leaning towards a GTX.
