At the moment I have my computer connected to a NETGEAR RP614V3 router and then to my BY Cable modem.

<Computer> --- <NETGEAR RP614V3> --- <Cable Modem>

I have just purchased a laptop for my wife and it will only be connecting to the internet via a wireless link.

What I would like to know is if it is possible to connect a cheep wireless hub(?) to the existing LAN so she can use the internet?

Something like:

<Computer> --- <NETGEAR RP614V3> --- <Cable Modem>
<Laptop> --- <Wireless Hub> |

I know next to nothing about WIFI so any help is appreciated!!

Thanks.

Wireless Access Point is what you need, something like a Linksys WAP54G.

However, I'd recommend you just replace your Netgear with a Linksys WRT54GS wireless cable router - it's not much more expensive than the WAP54G (about £5 last time I checked), and does a much better job than any Netgunk router. Plus you'll have one less power supply and less cables to mess around with.

Edit: Difference is ~£9 from OcUK, advice still stands though.
