Case: BitFenix Shinobi Gaming Case
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z77-D3H Intel Z77
RAM: Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB
Cooler: Corsair Hydro H80
CPU: i5 3570k (in a few weeks)
SSD: OCZ Agility 3 120GB
PSU: Corsair 80+ 650W
GPU: GTX 680 or AMD 7970

Excluding the GPU, which I haven't decided on yet, the build should be just over £500, if the IB equivalent of the i5 2500k is only £10-20 more expensive.

Oops just wrote a silly (not my original wording) take on the previous post saying it was way more than £500 due to GPU then read the OP said EXCLUDING GPU. What a muppet I am :) OP DO you need a PSU, or are you looking at the case coupled with PSU? I would still opt for the M4 in terms of SSD but it's hardly a deal breaker. RAM is SOO subjective but the price differential is mostly so small that it's barely worth talking about. Any decent 8GB kit will do the job unless you are going mad for OC'ing.

Just over £500? which planet are you living on, cause I want to move there, the planet where a GTX 680 is hmmmmmmmmmmmmm FREEEEEE! Surely £500 is a typo?

He said excluding the gpu, which makes sense.

I'd change the RAM for some 1.5v stuff though as i doubt ivy bridge likes 1.65v ram either.

The OCZ uses the Sandforce driver which is good but i have read many people having issues with it failing or just losing its speed.

The M4 uses a different driver (i forgot the name) which is more reliable and faster in certain circumstances than any sandforce SSD. I think its the same drivers the vertex 4 uses (not sure).
