Hey guys, basically i've got a nice little bundle of funds (200/300) looking to upgrade my current pc and wanting some advise

Here is my current spec:

Asus Crosshair IV Formula AMD 890FX (Socket AM3/AM3+) DDR3 Motherboard

AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 Black Edition "125W Edition" 3.20GHz (Socket AM3) - Retail

Microsoft Windows 7 Bundle - Home Premium 64 Bit £57.00 1 £57.00
Chosen Option

Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB SATA 6Gb/s 16MB Cache - OEM (WD5000AAKX)

Cooler Master CM-690 II Lite Dominator Case - Black

Antec High Current Gamer 620W '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply

Kingston HyperX Blu 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9AD3B1K2/4G)

Thats the current spec what do you think would be the best option to upgrade.

Cheers

I'm currently in a similar situation to you and I was looking to spend 200/300 on a new z77 board and IB chip then realised the real world difference would be minimal. I don't know how your 5870 compares to my 6950 however I doubt there's a massive difference but if you were to buy anything I'd suggest a £300 7950. If not put that money a side and wait until your computer can't play games at solid 60 FPS.

I'd go with snodge and say your system is fine and there isn't much point to upgrading either the processor or graphics card unless you're having trouble or want every single option at max in the latest games (you probably couldn't tell the difference).

I say save your money unless the it's really burning a hole in your pocket in which case a SSD would offer you something you could readily notice. here's the one i got http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-010-CR&groupid=1657&catid=2101&subcat=2103

Thanks Gti, I had a Upgrade inch then realised instead of looking at Hardware 24/7 just play the game :)

But yes I agree with the SSD suggestion my computer takes around 2-3 minutes to completely boot without it takes ages to open application my brother bought a M4 Windows in 24 windows from boot and you can click an application and you'll click and be like BLOODY HELL - well worth the money perhaps a 64 or 128GB though for you depending on what applications you run that need fast loading times, obviously windows :)
