Hello everybody!
I'm looking to upgrade, I've been having issues with my current set up
for a while now and I'm just done with it!
I have around £1000 to spend, could i kindly get advise/opinions
on a motherboard, graphics card, processor and cooling that will compliment
each other really well? I can just use the other things from this old pc right?
Thank you in advanced :-) what info do you need to further help?

Hello & Welcome to the forum.

To start, do you have anything you can re-use? HDD, SSD, ODD, OS, Case, Monitor?

Thanks for the welcome and quick reply.
I have a case, 2TB Hdd, 550w PSU, DVD RW drive,
Windows 7 64bit, 8GB Ram (2x4gb), monitor,
All the rest is needed i guess, preferably not AMD.
It's usage is gaming, music, recording, video editing and photoshop.

I would show a list of what I've been looking at so far but to honest i have
little knowledge on whats good and right, it was a cheap pc to begin with
and thats starting to show.

What case do you have?

What make and model is the PSU?

If you do a lot of video editing the hex core you've spec may indeed be useful. If not, a cheaper 4790k bundle will perform all your other tasks just as well.. You'll also get cheaper RAM (DDR3)..

The strix is a very good choice if noise Is a concern as it has a silent (0db) mode..

As for the SSD look at the mx100 range, the 256gb version is only £75/£80 and its a very good drive..

As for the cooler, its good. But the tundra TD03 is cheaper and performs the same.

If you can, get a new case - they aren't that dear. It will feel like a whole new pc then and you will probably get better air flow, most cases come with system fans included.

You'd be better off getting the 4790k + gigabyte ud3h bk bundle. It comes with a 3 year free upgrade (to the latest socket at the time) warranty..

RAM wise, the Kingston beast 2400mhz RAM is the same price (and quicker).

Look at the mx100 SSD range, much better value.

The cooler and GPU are good.

One isssue is your PSU, it is dire. You need a new unit for this. Its a cheaply made PSU and I wouldn't have it running this equipment. Look at the super flower 550w (hx green) for a single card setup or the leadex 750/850 or EVGA G2 750/850 for SLI..
