Hi all

Im new to Intel and what i nee to know is....
With amd you could look up the Year / week make time etc to see if you had a good chip . ie good over clockers or not.

Does Intel core duo have the same or do all the chips have much the same rate on how far they can be pushed.
After having a reas i can see the FPO Number gives the date of make etc.
But is there a certain year / week / place of make data base that shows good chips

eg. week 12 year 2007 built in Malaysia are great over clockers etc

I hope you all get what i mean as im more of a do'er then a typer :P

Look forward to your input

Regards

Weeks 27B and 28B from last year are considered to be the best steppings for the first generation Core 2 Duos.

But there's nowhere near the same clarity with the C2D's steppings as there was with the AMD chips. It's far more hit and miss. Tho 'B' chips are considered to clock a bit better than 'A' chips. But 'B' chips were also thought to run a bit warmer than the 'A' chips.

And there's more letters being used now. My Q6600 is an 'F'.

Which CPU are you thinking of getting?

The new 1333mhz chips are a newer generation (G0) and are believed to run cooler and overclock further than the previous B3 chips.
