Hey,

I posted this in the mobile phone forum but figured I may be better off posting it here -

I sent my phone in to HTC after an issue that seems to affect a few handsets (someone else had the same on here) with the camera. The first time that it went for repair, they took four weeks over it and fixed a fault that didn't exist with the phone. Camera still faulty!

The second time a guy rang me to arrange collection again and gave me his word it'd be back within five working days.

Fast forward 10 days later, I ring and they claim the phones been dispatched. I ring UPS, they claim they haven't even scanned the phone yet. The next day UPS ring me to say they've just picked the phone up. Guess what though - the phone still has the same problem! I rang HTC today and they want it in for repair again.

Timeframe this time they say 7-14 days. This initially started on the 16th September, where can I draw the line and get something properly done about this. I'm fed up of being without a phone that makes use of my allowances on my contract!

Help please

So it's been away three times now and not repaired ? I'd be dealing with the company you got that from direct and asking for a replacement. Under the Sales of Goods Act you are entitled to this.

Where did you get this from in the first place ?

Hey,

I've had the phone since may this year (middle of may), and its been as I said for repair twice and the fault still exists.

Thanks for your help so far.

Well in the sales of goods act it states that in the first 6 months of you owning any product it is down to the supplier to identify the fault and either repair or replace the product for you. They've had three opportunities to do so and failed each time.

I'd pop into your local store (I assume you got it in the Truro store ?) and speak to the manager, don't go shouting at anyone just go in and camly state your case, go armed with all the info you've got, dates, times, names of people you've spoken to and point out that they should be replacing the phone.

To have had it sent back to you twice still faulty quite frankly is unforgiveable and I wouldn't accept anything other than a replacement phone.

Hey mate,

I got the phone from PZ as they didn't have stock in truro. I asked earlier about a refund on the phone but the girl I spoke to was a trainee and didn't know a thing.

I went to CPW to get it repaired first and they didnt have a standby phone and said I could deal direct with HTC to save having to drive to the store to pick it up. They themselves use HTC for repairs as they aren't authorised to repair HTC phones.

Like I said, two repair trips, six weeks and counting of a broken phone from when they first picked it up and I'm utterly fed up!

Thank you for your help.

The situation won't change unless you go into store and speak to the store manager. Go straight for the Organ Grinder and not his Monkey's. Even if he's busy wait for him, and don't leave the store till you've spoken to him.

He's got more clout (and at his discrssion) change the phone, I can see you going round and round in circles with this if you keep sending it away for repair.

Hey,

A little update here : They collected the phone on tueday. Its now been repaired again and guess whats been replaced this time :

The touchscreen and touchpanel. Because thats really going to fix a fault with the camera, isn't it :rolleyes::mad:

Absolute idiots and I don't know where to go next, its due to be dispatched back to me today or tomorrow.
