Advise request for beginner (1xCPU, 4xGPU)

Hi

I'm looking to add water cooling (first time for me) to my Lian Li V1020 machine. It has:

* Asus P8Z77-V Premium
* Core i7
* 4x R9 290 AMD cards

Looking to buy the following:

* 1 x OcUK Tech Lab - W16 Watercooling Kit 480
* 4 x EK Water Blocks EK-FC R9-290X - Nickel
* 1 x EK Water Blocks EK-FC Terminal QUAD Semi-Parallel
* 1 x Bitspower 24 Pin ATX Always ON connector (BP-WTP-J02)

Is this everything I need to get started and will everything fit, or do I need anything else? Are these the recommended makes for a 4x GPU system and should I get another radiator?

You're are going to need a lot more radiator area to keep that lot cool. Take a look at the sticky threads at the top of the forum for an idea. I'm just going down this route myself and have a 240 rad for the CPU and a 480 for my two 780's. I suspect you are going to need more than that to help dissipate the heat from 4x 290's. Surprised you are not on x79/socket 2011 platform with that many GPU's.
 
General rule is one 240 rad per high end component, be it cpu or gpu.
You might get away with thicker rads or push/pull configurations, but for sure you will need another 360/480 rad.
To be honest, with 4 hot cards, I would put your cpu under clc such as h100 and make custom loop for cards separately. Also look at external rad options.
 
Not familiar with the always on connector you have listed. I assume that is for a second PSU to be activated for two of the cards. If this is the case, I would recommend Bitspower Xstation to trigger both PSU's when you switch the on button. If you use a shorting connector (no idea what you have listed as i cant find it on google) like the ones used to test WCing loops without connecting to a motherboard, if one of the PSU's go off then the one with the short connector will stay on, which isnt what you want.

As for radiator, i recommend a minimum of two 480's for this loop. My current 290x is looped with my CPU, RAM and Mobo and has 600mm of radiator to play with. When mining (at just 35% load) it stays around 48 degrees. It may sound cool to you but that is just one GPU at low loads and without the CPU under load, with 120mm more radiator than you originally posted.

Also don't know what a single d5 will make out of 4 GPU and 1 CPU loop and a ton of radiators, so will say that two pumps for the best. My four blocks and rads are ran off of two 4.0 pumps, both together cost the same as a single D5 with a pump top and they still have a little bit of grunt in them if i wanted to add 2 or 3 more blocks.

Add external Phobya 1080/1260 if you don't have space in the case.

^ prob best option heat and performance wise. You will save yourself a few quid on fittings too by using a large radiator rather than multiple smaller ones. In this case, i would go for the 1260 as this is prob one of the few rigs which will use it to its fullest.

Mining 24/7 will take a toll on these toasty cards over time, if thats what you are planning on doing. Considering the cost of these cards, stretching the budget for a 1260 will be worth it when it comes down to lifespan of components or at least peace of mind if not that :)
