I am using a WPC11-PCMCIA Adapter in a Lappy
My router is a WAG354G v2. Both Linksys
The Router is a replacement cos a couple of weeks ago, my v1 WAG354 got burned by a storm.
Now, the WPC11 is only 11MB so I dont expect hyper speeds, but what I am getting are far from the expected speeds...
When on the internet, I have tried to download some files, but I was getting 7K
I decided to use a real PC and then copy it from the PC to the LapTop, but again, it was uber-slow... As an example, WinAmp is what just shy of 6MB, but it took about 10 minutes to copy over??
Its the same across the board.
I used an Ethernet cable to do all the driver updates and the Windows updates and I had hoped that there would be a cure in there somewhere but no!
I then put a wireless adapter onto a Desktop PC and got that connected, and thats a fairly respectable speed, so perhaps the router is setup ok, and the Linksys PCMCIA adapter is not?
I then tried the adapter in my daughters LapTop and its fine there, using the very same drivers that I used in mine.
So, it MUST be some config issue in my LapTop surely, but what? - I have not touched anything.
Anyone willing to offer anything I can go on please?
