hi. the sound that comes out of my iBook when listening to music is, unsuprisingly, awful:) i'm thinking of attaching some Acoustic Energy Aego M 2.1 Speakers as i heard lots of nice stuff about them. is it pointless though because of the onboard sound, or will it actually sound decent?

any advice would be much appreciated! thank you.

It should sound fine. At college, for music tech the lecturer brought in his iBook (or powerbook?) and fequently connected it's onboard output to the Hi-Fi system. You shouldn't have any problems and it is definately going to sound a whole lot better than built in speakers :)

Those speakers come highly reccomended by many on here aswell as in numerous reviews (including What Hi-Fi, rather pristigeous for PC speakers). I doubt you'll be dissapointed. I take it you don't require them to be portable? just to make sure :)

no. just during this last year of uni would love to have nice sound in my room, as have no hi-fi as such. when it sounds as bad as it does now, i often would rather not listen, which is a shame.
