HI can somebody please tell me the difference between these 2....which one would the 280gtx come into?
thanks

The ageia ppu which is now owned by Nvidia is still a great little utility, it is used in all games that make use of the unreal 3 engine, you can tell this as it lights up when ever i play any game with the unreal 3 engine like mass effect, unreal 3 of course and a few others out there.
It mainly makes physics seem more real and accurate and has boosted my frames in games that use the U3 engine by about 10-15 BUT not in any game that doesnt use the U3 engine that ive seen so far.

The Ageia PPU was an addon card exclusively that speeded up physics calculations written using the Physx API.

It never really caught on mainly with the lack of support from developers as not really made a game with MUST HAVE the PPU installed.

Nvidia have since purchased Ageia and ported the Physx API to CUDA so that it is accelerated by 8,9 and GT2xx series cards.

Physx is an API that is then accelerated by the hardware that is the PPU.
Nvidia have said that no more seperate PPU's will be developed.
