These are already in my planned spec, but I want evry1 who owns these to post in here saying how brilliant, fantastic, amazing, and orgasmic these speakers are.

Thank you please

They're incredibly orgasmic. Base is superb, treble is to and it all blends well! Great speakers with superb build quality! I can only praise them

Mine is in the process of being delivered, should recieve it on Wednesday - will post pictures and feedback...

Sure hope it is orgasmic - because with my MacBook coming in (probably) end of this week, I'm gonna have multiple orgasms.

I'm also very tempted with these speakers so I look forward to any comments.. what's the likely hood of them being in the "this week only"... that would most definatley push me to buy a pair :D

If I remember it right, if OcUK have over 150 in stock, they will put the item into this week only, I'd be quite  if they put it for this week only come this week - only just paid for one... :o

Recieved my delivery today!

*Orgasm*

The sound quality was just  - fricking brilliant.
The build quality is very solid, can feel how sturdy and "value for money" - it weights quite abit but gives it an "expansive" feel.

Was surprised how "tall" the sub was - my old sub was a creative cubey looking one.

I've tried playing rock, classic and power metal. Good Bass and Treble, managed to turn the volume to full and still no distortion, I found level 3 bass abit too boomy but that's because it's close to the satalites - will further re-arrange it on my desk when I've rearrange my room.

9/10 IMO. One of my best buys.

I knew you would love them  Just a tip: Place the sub between the speakers on its side, it makes the sound much more full :)

You mean the sub on its side or the satalites?
Edit: OH! You mean the satalites right next to the sub? I might try that tomorrow :)

I'm planning to lay it on a desk; satalites on the top and the sub about 2ft down, in the lower shelf of the desk, directly under. Awaiting weekend to move table from below to my room.

Just wondering what sound card would be needed to make the most of these. I mostly use the audio on my PC for listening to MP3s and have until now been using a very old, ****** hi-fi minisystem with the onboard sound. The CD player on the system's gone kaput, so I'm chucking it and getting some Aego Ms with a soundcard.

Because I'm on a bit of a budget, I was going to go for the Audigy 4. I do a bit of gaming and a bit of movie-watching, but it's mostly music. Is it worth going for the X-Fi Music or not?

If you're only ever going to drive stereo speakers then onboard will be more than good enough - depending on what onboard you're using. My Intel HD Audio sounds good enough for me.

It also depends if you have good source material or are going to be playing downloaded 128k MP3s with the "OMG CRYSTALLIZER" on or not.

I wouldn't think thats the case? Most people with stereo Hi-Fi systems connected up use sound cards as the DACs on them will be more accurate and as such produce higher quality sound (some onboard will be better than certain soundcards though i'm sure). It should also impove the SNR, but this is typically better than that of the amplifiers in these sorts of systems, and the computer fan noise will undoubtebly be louder anyhow.

As for which to get if you do think you need an upgrade (you should hear some improvement at least) depends on a few things. The X-Fi will be quite future proof and should be compatible with many applications and games. It should offer very low latency and have fairly good quality DACs. If you just want the best stereo sound quality, consider something like the M-Audio AUDIOPHILE 2496, which is around the same price as the X-Fi from a competitor and is more geared to studio use. With this option, all your money goes into quality components, not extra features or surround sound support. I am not sure about compatability with everything, but it should be fine.

Like I said, it depends what onboard you have. The specs could be better on paper but you could be unable to hear any difference.

Is it me or the Apple's iBook G4 built in sound card is lot better then my PC's onboard soundcard (Realtek HD).

Is it worth buying X-Fi to get same crystal clear sound?

Just posting to also give a big thumbs up to the Aego M's, for others who may be considering buying them.

Got mine 2 weeks back, after my two year old son had trashed one of the satellite speakers on my Logitech Z3's.

I dithered for a while between the Aego's and the Z4's as a replacement, as I'd been quite happy with the Z3's. For the £30 extra I'm definately glad I plumped for the Aego's. Everything said above and in other threads about the quality of sound from them is spot on.

Seem very sturdily built and generally look and feel quality. I was initially shocked by the small size of the satellites, but definately not disappointed when I heard what they are capable of pumping out.

Only thing I have to worry about now is my son has figured out how to switch them on and adjust the volume. Windows start sound playing at full blast on bootup is not good for the ears or heart!

There is usually a lot of electrical interference with onboard sound, which is very noticeable with good speakers. It doesn't really matter if you're using stereo or surround, you'll still notice this. I've switched back to onboard temporarily and the difference is very noticeable.
