And my sisters ASLEEP...NOOOOOOOOOOES

Can't really do a review until shes up  But first impressions...the sats...wow...there small & heavey, i was expecting much bigger. Build quality is excellent, standard leads are good quality aswell. Was easy to put together, took about 2-3mins (Not including the time trying to remove my old speaker system from the twisted pile of crap which some call cables behind my desk. :p ) At the moment i have them on a very, very, very low volume (putting ear next to the speaker jobby) and they still sound very clear and crisp and the base is still working nicely at low volumes. Can't wait to crank this up :D

Photos to come after i get up and tidy this room

Im not sure if i can say where i got them from, because it could be classed as competition :p But as they have been mentioned on these forums before im gonna take a risk. I got them from superfi, as the order link on ocuk wasn't working for me :(

As for the sound...just....wow. I really can't believe how such tiny sats can deliever such powerful & clear sound. I was expecting the same old sound from a 2.1 system, but i can't stress enough how different they sound! They really do sound like bookshelf speakers, apart from they lack that slight "loud powerful feel" at low volumes. Im currently using the sub on bass level 3 (max), its very bassie but doesn't drown out the clear crisp sound from the sats. Unlike most 2.1 systems this sounds better CRANKED. I have to admit it sounds a bit weak at low volumes. But thats not a problem because i either play music loud, or use headphones. The sats are tiny, but very heavey, so sit very nicely on a desk.

I dunno what to say, im very, very impressed. They sound awesome. I listen to a wide range of music, and it plays them all brilliantly, and theres parts in songs which the speakers pick up that i never heard before. :D

I was under the impression, subwoofers have non directional sound, so placement is irrelevant? Saying that though, i tried the sub on the desk and i found it became extremely weak sounding, and there was hardly any thump there.

EDIT: Also the photo of the sub is misleading, its actually not that smaller than my PC case :D So putting it on my desk really isn't an option.

Anyway, highly recommend this if your looking for a speaker system and don't want to go the bookshelf/amplifer route.

Best £100 spent ever.
