Im currently running my TV's via a 3-way co-ax splitter, but need to add another 2 TV's. All the splitter ports are currently used.

The only 5 port splitter I can find is a 5 way 'F' splitter. Im close enough to a major signal so don't need any amplification, I just wanted to know before I cut the end off every cable I have and rewire them to 'F' sockets if this is the right route to go down.

Can I take my co-ax cables, cut the ends off and fit an 'F' connector to them?

Is the 'F' connector any good?

Is this the right way to do this?

Just want a sanity check from the people on here that know more about this than me..

Cheers

you can get coax to ftype converters if you dont want to go cutting cables :)

edit, scratch that, they are the wrong type for what you need, before you go cutting off the ends of your cables, you need to check the diameter as f type connectors fit on smaller diameter cable. if they dont fit, you may have to get an amplifier

I think that these ones are the same size, but I will buy a connector on the way home and check the size.
Cheers for the heads up

splitting the signal weakens it. I would suggest a powered amplifier/distro box. They are less than £20 and would probably make your life a lot easier.
