Hi all,

I was looking at getting the above fan controller, partially to allow me to control my fans, and partly because it looks pretty cool!

But I was wondering, how do you 'install' the temperature probes for CPU, VGA, HDD and 'system'?

I read somewhere saying the it actually needs to be between the CPU and the heatsink which can't be right... Surely?

Any also, what's people's general views on this? Been watching some videos and mainly people complain about the viewing angles from below, but my computer is on the ground anyway so I'll have fine viewing angles from above

Thanks in advance for any help :)

they are like a wire, you can stick them to the hdd or whatever you want to monitor temps of,or just place by them

for cpu you can stick it to the base of the cpu heatsink cooler

Ah okay thanks

So for example you could just leave the system one in the case somewhere for a general 'case temperature'

Seems like quite a good controller, I was thinking of leaving the motherboard to automatically control the CPU fan via the motherboard header so it goes up and down as necessary and then control the case fans manually

Have you used this controller before?

yes I have one,looks good

Cool thanks

I suppose that's the main selling point as any old cheap controller can control the fan speeds lol

I also like the alarm feature if a fan fails

Out of interest where abouts on the HDD would you stick the temp probe? Or just anywhere on the case? I'm not sure how hot / where HDD's normally get hot anyway

Hi all,

Got this fitted yesterday, looks really good!

I was wondering though, what is the extra 4 pin connection for that goes back to the motherboard header for the CPU fan? If the temperature of the CPU gets hot, will the motherboard over-ride my manual settings and turn up the RPM through the fan controller? Or is it just to stop motherboard failed fan warnings from coming up?

I'm hoping it is the first option because I'd like to have manual control, but don't want to forget to turn the fans up for something and end up ruining the CPU from overheating. If not I'll have to maybe leave the CPU fan auto controlled by the mobo and just manually control case fans

Anybody know the details of what that connection does?
