Aerofly-FS - anyone else tried it

I've not. I was hoping someone might have had it at the Weston show last month so one could have a butchers but sadly no one did or I missed it :(

Just seen this pop up on steam store, hadn't heard of it before.

Looks a bit like ms flight from the screenshots but I could be wrong, there's no passenger jets in the screenshots so I'm guessing they don't feature in the game.

There's also a awesome looking WW1 fighter in the screenshots which I think is a sopwith camel.

Anyone know what this game is like?

Bought it last night and had a play this morning after leaving it to download, 20GB+.

It is a glorious sandbox. The visuals and associated performance are stunning. It is pretty much Switzerland mapped out. The entire 41,285 sq.km (15,940 sq.miles) of Switzerland are available down to a resolution of 3 feet apparently.

A good range of customisation for gampeplay, visuals, controls.

It is a Visual Flight Rules simulator which makes sense as the scenery is very impressive, makes no sense being up in the clouds.

Aircraft included:

Cessna 172 Skyhawk
McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet
Jodel Robin DR 400 / 140 B Major
Pitts S-2B
Discus bM
Swift S1
Sopwith F1 Camel
Extra 300 LX

The physics seem very accurate and seem to what the heart of the game is about.

No "missions" as such.

Lots of challenges for each aircraft defining a route and having you pass gates for example on the way.

This Sim is all about the flying with no gimmicks.

The visuals are satellite images with static objects planted on them to give depth.

I've had it for a while. I think it is an excellent looking game (until you hit the urban areas and water) with a flight model that is very good and quite similar to XPlane. I do however prefer XPlane over it but I still play it now and then where I never load up MSFS anymore. Flight well the less said about that the better.
