Anyone into these guys?

I have never not been as such, was familiar with the big hits etc, but been listening to them more a bit recently.

The only thing I note they are one of these bands that have put out a ton of material.

Now, I really like Def Leppard - 3 Albums in particular Adrenalise, Pyromania and of course Hysteria, there are a couple of good tracks on the side, but the are also one of these bands that have put out a ton of material, and if I am honest, some of it is pretty generic.

So, where I am going with this is, I will list the ones I know love, what other good tracks are worth listening to?

Dream on
Cryin
Crazy
Amazing
Fly Away from Here
Jaded
Living on the Edge
Hole in my Soul
Tyos in the Attic
Sweet Emotion
Dude looks like a Lady
Love in an Elevator
Janies got a gun

and of course that one from Armageddon which if I am honest grates on me a bit now lol.

They were quite popular in the late 70's (yes they've been going that long, Steven Tyler is 73!) but really dropped out of popularity in the 80's until they appeared on Run DMC's walk this way and didn't win a Grammy until the 90's!

I was into them from the first album in 1973 and then left them after about the 6th album in the late 70s.
I hate all the slow stuff and for me the albums Toys In The Attic and Rocks stand out.
They really went down bank and then came back with Permanent Vacation and then went down bank again - in my opinion.
The Run DMC version was very good but not as good as the original in 1975.

It's funny how I can still remember the shop I bought the first album from and it cost 99p in a sale so I bought it for the cover.

My favourite album is actually the self titled first album. My best mate at school was a massive fan and loved Joe Perry. As others have said the 70 stuff is the best. I remember buying Pump and spinning it quite a lot but its far less progressive than the early stuff.
I'd rate these as my essential listening but be warned it's quite different from the 90's stuff

Aerosmith
Live Bootleg
Rocks
Get your Wings
Toys in the Attic

Joe Perry's autobiography is actually pretty good. It's quite well written and he is authentic. Steve Tylers is less likeable but thats true of him also.

I like Hangman Jury and Deuces are wild

also...I think Quest for fame was the first game I bought when I got my first PC in the mid 90s, came with this huge ‘pick’ that connected to the old controller/midi port and you just had to play in time with their songs....starting in a rough club, working up to the big shows, was amazing!

This is good too...Only recently discovered it’s an Aerosmith song, always thought it was a Guns n Roses song!
