Apparently this used to be £300 and had some strange Amazon Echo-esque voice control / AI system used to select music. It used the Rdio service and, when Rdio closed its doors, the company who manufacturer them was forced to do so also. The firmware was then updated so that it became a regular bluetooth/Airplay/Spotify Connect device.
For £300 it's a joke but for £50 it's a steal. I ordered one yesterday to see what they're like. It arrived today I'm pleasantly surprised by how good it is. It's beautifully made. It'd make an excellent garden/kitchen/bathroom speaker and sound quality-wise, it's a lot better than any other portable bluetooth speaker I've heard, no doubt thanks to its 3" driver with separate tweeters.
It's also about £100 cheaper than anything else you can buy that has the same connectivity options.
Definitely worth the cash if you're after something like this.
Anyone else got one? There is, unsprisingly, a distinct lack of ownership experience online, but given its rather niche original market, I'm not surprised.
