A main flash can be a bit big and cumbersome though, I'd be interested if anyone knows of a solution.
ST-E2 might be a good option for Canon, like SU 800 is for Nikon, but by the time you put 4 AA's in it, you might as well have a full blown flash, and it seems a bit expensive for an AF
Canon make one call ST-E2 , but it's about £150.
Cheaper to buy an old flash and turn off the flash.

Yongnuo YN-622C flash trigger - about £35.
Wow, didnt realise the new Yongnuo TTL triggers had AF assist on them.... nice!
