Ok, going to the afco tommorow, well just wanted to check i dont need to ring up in advance or anything to arrange an appoint with anyone so i can have a good interview and talking to? Otherwise i obviously wont be going tommorow
to be honest when i remember going years ago with my sister(when she was joining) i remember it being 3 seperate sections, is it any different now in the sense that the people there can help you choose the right for you? My best mate is in the RAF but doesnt really get much satisfaction but has good quality of life and he should keep getting promoted, but my brother and sister both work a lot harder and get to do loads more interesting stuff and get more opportunitys than him, they are both navy. I think i know what i kinda wanna do, and its in the navy, so i could just drop in and queue up(hopefully itll be raining so no1 will be in ) ?
Meh really need some advice cos i dont wanna do something mickey mouse, id like to be promoted etc.
Its not officer application, im not posh enough for that
You recon im fine just dropping in and will get a decent amount of help?
Like to get it sorted before school leavers crash the party tbh ;x dont wanna be sitting around having to wait after i graduate for next intake.
my degree classification isnt going to be v good really, and the course isnt really remotely relevant to anything(multimedia&digital entertainment computer =/) Iv got a decent amount of ucas points under my belt, but upon closer inspection they aint pretty grades, AS levels generally make my total a decent amount.. Im just not very motivated academically you see.
Whats a commision? usually whenever my siblings talk to me about it it goes over my head, sisters a bit thick and brother gets a big arrogant so i figured id just ignore him till i talked to someone who did actually know
Which you looking at going for and doing what?
ah riteoos. So whats a comission?
My problem is im unmotivated, I blew my last proper interview(luckily it was part of a uni module for a placement etc) bigtime, i just really want to get my career on track and start doing something hands on and being a part of something that has a point, iv just gota hope this comes through. Hmm aptitude tests, that the problem solving & maths etc? I love solving problems though need a bit of praccy really!
RM officer, hardcore set your sights high, officer too
ah just read the post above my last, ah i c, im not bothered about that, its something thats easy to move up to when you're already in iirc aint it? I just want to get my foot in the door and my life ontrack Heh you know you have to kill a bunny rabbit and skin it to eat during marine trainin? the poor bunny ;x Sisters ex was a sgt in marines, dont think id be that cut out for that much of the fitness, im actually quite worried that my ankle could give and me not get in due to it, iv always had problems with it but nothing major because iv not really done anything major really, mostly because of the generally aches and pains in it of me pushing myself to hard and not building up.
So iv started soft ground running(footy boots on the footy bitch(bog atm) near my flat to get myself started, less impact and more effort gota start my swimmin soon too really, thatll turn me into a brickpoo house soon enuff
lol you'v got a good way of looking at things, i kinda expected my brother to go marines but i think the bunny rabbit scared him off, cos hes a sissy. Plus hes got into something that will earn him a way higher wage in civvy street.
Ill go and talk to them, the thing i was looking at (CT i think it was) is supposed to be one of the fast tracked careers which i want to be on, im fine starting at the bottom aslong as its fast-track with promotions galore, dont mind a bit of hard work etc.
Been a bit put off by officer stuff in general, not my type of people really, few who iv met or have been told about just really dont like the sound of, id rather be on a lower wage with people like myself and be happy than surrounded by toffs
hmm, this may be true for the marines but from general experience a lot of people hate quite a few officers etc, they see them as a bit snobby with no common sense etc, guess it depends on the luck of the draw really, can imagine some general morons getting in on pedigree etc.
Islamic terrorists, pfft they are nothing compared to bunnys
Hardly gunna be scary when you've got marines to the left, marines to the right, marines aint supposed to be scared of nothin
iv wanted to do it for years, heart set on it, not anything else i can see myself doing.
Want to be part of it, experience the life, have the great wages, meet all the new people, travel etc.
well it was tipping it down on friday and id got looking through the pdfs and decided id speak to my parents and siblings about it over the weekend, Im quite tempted by air traffic now, I want something that will land me a job with decent pay as soon as im out u c.
